If you’re like me you found yourself thinking pants were a bad choice in the middle of the day a few times over the last couple of weeks. My family grabbed some pizza at Bambino’s downtown on Christmas Eve between a service we volunteered at the one we attended. IT. FELT. LIKE. MAY!

Now, admittedly I’ve been busy as heck over the last two months and certainly during December didn’t look at much in the way of weather…but, I knew we had that one storm early in the month but figured our precipitation numbers in the cities were below average. Whelp – that one storm on December 3rd was enough to put the Springs and Pueblo above average for the month!

Let’s zoom out some. Check out the latest drought monitor made up of multiple modes of information that feed up from the local and county level up through the USDA. From Cañon City through Pueblo and north into the Colorado Springs metro area conditions aren’t even being reported as abnormally dry. I’ll write more about the mountains in a different post.
