Best chance of storms Friday in Pikes Peak Region

The best chance of storms Friday afternoon are going to come in the Pikes Peak Region. Storms that form in Teller County will get stronger as they roll down the slopes into the metro area where there is more water for storms to use behind the early morning cold front.

Brief moderate to heavy rain, and some 1/2″ hail is possible as the storms move east over the metro in the mid to late afternoon. The storm will start to collapse as it moves toward the Lincoln County line. Wind gusts near 50mph will be possible with this outflow as the storm weakens.

The outflow boundary associated with this storm will expand, and may help to develop a few new, but likely weaker storms along the Arkansas River from Cañon City to Pueblo and over Crowley and Otero Counties in the late afternoon or early evening.
