Activity will increase over the fire in the next several hours as we warm up and wind begins increasing on the large scale.

Fire behavior experts expect crown runs where terrain slopes and wind align during the hottest and windiest parts of the day. The official fire Facebook page reiterates that safety of the public and fire personnel remain priority. Additional help for the fire is on the way.
The wind will be a little more south-southwest today so fire spread to the north-northeast is to be expected in the afternoon. There are several natural features that firefighting crews may use as breaks, including the North St. Charles River and Highway 78 is a big man-made break, in addition to other roads in the area.
