Heavy Rain Tuesday Brings Continued Flood Threat

HEAVY RAIN TUESDAY

Radar estimates overlaid with reports from CoCoRaHS show a number of areas with between 3/4″ and 2″ on Tuesday. The pattern isn’t too different today as we’ve still got abundant moisture and another wave rotating around the high that is gradually shifting westward.

A Flash Flood Watch is up for the afternoon and evening for the eastern Mountains and plains – including the Aspen Acres Fire – where the wet ground and additional heavy rain producing storms make for a flood risk as storms redevelop later today.

Our risk of damaging wind gusts is lower today…I don’t expect the 60-70mph gusts from yesterday’s storms…40-50mph on the high end as cold pools develop.
