A season of transition from summer to winter can bring some of the best weather of the year to Colorado. Meteorological fall runs through September, October, and November.
High temperature averages fall some 30-degrees over the next three months!
Most years bring our first snow, and first few snow storms. Low temperatures start to fall below freezing, and the holidays begin.
We lose nearly three and a half hours of daylight during meteorological fall and we come off daylight saving time, changing our rhythm and shifting sunrise and sunset times. Daylight saving time ends on November 1st at 2 am this year.
Last Year's "Firsts"
In 2025 Colorado Springs and Pueblo had the first freeze on October 19th.
First snow was late last year, as officially the Springs had a trace for the first time on November 23rd. Pueblo had to wait until the very end of fall, catching .7″ on November 30th!
