The most widespread storm days of the week will be Wednesday and Thursday, especially across the mountains.
A Pacific Northwest low and high pressure to our southeast will draw deeper moisture into Colorado, giving us a late-season monsoon-type setup. Storms will be capable of producing efficient, heavy rainfall, with the best overall coverage expected over the higher terrain.
One of the strongest signals is west of the San Luis Valley these two days. The eastern San Juan Mountains and upper Rio Grande Valley are under a Flood Watch from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday evening.
For the Plains, thunderstorm chances pick up after today, though the widespread moisture and heaviest-rain potential favor the mountains more than communities farther east.
