Large hail impacted the eastern-most counties of Colorado over the weekend as both Saturday and Sunday brought some baseball sized reports, and a number of hail stone reports greater than 1″. Saturday’s storms rolled east along Interstate-70.
Sunday’s singular storm in the afternoon was a large supercell that started where some of Saturday’s storms were and then rolled off to the southeast, weakening and falling apart prior to arriving in Kansas.
Peaks to plains received a couple of photos that haven’t processed through the National Weather Service report system as of this writing. Late Sunday evening, our storm chaser Joseph Velasquez caught a 1.5″ stone outside of Matheson in Elbert County and at 11pm some golf balls were falling at Catherine’s house in Ordway.
