Storm Moves Across Colorado Wednesday

I grabbed a wavelength of satellite that doesn’t show the low clouds we’ve got at the surface over the eastern plains this morning to show you that aloft we’re currently sitting in some dry air.

In the low cloud cover behind the cold front we are getting areas of mist, drizzle, and really light rain. for the eastern mountains, cities on the Interstate, and eastern plains, our best shot at meaningful moisture comes later today with a line of showers and even some thunderstorms that will move across the area from the southwest.

These showers and storms will be to the southeast of the main circulation of the storm.

TIMING

San Luis Valley – Mid morning
Eastern Mountains – Middle of the day
I25 and plains south of highway 50 – Mid afternoon
Plains north of highway 50 – Late afternoon and early evening

This area of showers lifts off to the northeast overnight as the heart of the storm gets into northeast Colorado.
