IMPORTANT UPDATE
The newest perimeter of the fire now includes all of the Beulah/Valley area where previous updates had the fire ringing the community. It doesn’t necessarily mean that everything here has burned – you’ve seen photos and videos over the last several days of areas of trees next to burned stretches, and the same in areas with smaller vegetation.
That said, it’s a serious and significant update that helps to support the additional loss of structures that been shared by authorities and from what Merry and I have been forensically analyzing using satellite, radar, photos and video evidence.
My sense is there is notable loss outside of this area, too. It has been three really hard afternoons and evenings of fire activity and spread with another to go on Thursday.
My heart is heavy. Yours probably is, too. Together we’ll make it through and make it new.
