Truly Historic Warmth – Perspective

TRULY HISTORICAL WARMTH – I’m not going to name any names, but one of you was up my you know what yesterday that I was hyping up historical warmth. C’mon man – that’s why I’m doing my own thing now – I’m always going to shoot it straight.

Here’s some perspective for you. When you’re talking about beating the all-time records for a month by 5-8 degrees you’re not just notching it up one…you’re annihilating it! Temperature records behave statistically like “extremes”—typically, each new record typically nudges past the old one, not obliterates it. So when you exceed a long-term record by 5–8°, you’re not just at the edge of the distribution…
you’re well outside it.
This warmth is ahead of a cold front that brings us back down closer to seasonal norms on Sunday when many areas will be in the 60s. The warmest readings will be over the mountain valleys where Alamosa and Salida will hold on to the 70s.
