A ridge of high pressure for the late part of next week will have the strength of one you’d expect to see in late May, not the middle of March. With it is going to come a multi-day stretch where records are likely to be taken out.

Next Wednesday will be the day when we’ll be closest to the record, but I think next Thursday-Saturday we knock ’em down in a big way.

This extended stretch of warmth is likely going to really begin the spring melt-off in the high country. As mentioned in my previous blog post, the year’s with lower snow pack usually start the melt off around March 20th, but this amount of warmth for multiple days is likely to do some serious melting with abundant sun on the way too. I’ve made a projection, call it a forecast if you will, through March 25th (in yellow).
