Strong storms started developing around Southern Colorado Thursday afternoon, one of which produced a confirmed tornado around 3:55PM in eastern Custer County!
The strong storm that prompted a Tornado Warning continued to slide eastward across Custer Co. and then eventually it slid over the middle of the Aspen Acres Fire. It weakened over the fire, and the Tornado Warning was allowed to expire before 4:30PM.
Along with the Tornado Warning, Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and Flash Flood Warnings were also issued for various locations including the Aspen Acres Fire, Colorado City and portions of Elbert Co.
The potential for severe storms is expected to dissipate late Thursday evening, with fewer storms expected Friday.
