One thing the pattern is honing in on next week is that the heaviest precipitation looks to be over Colorado’s mountains and then off to the southeast of the major cities. I don’t start putting color on these maps until 1/2″ to try and and help bring some perspective and have the bullseyes jump out a little bit.
The first model is the European total liquid precip. forecast through next week. The second is the American GFS. What you’re seeing is the tropical remnants of Hurricane Rachel impacting the western slope late this weekend and then the remnants of what is going to be Hurricane Simon over Oklahoma and Kansas.
