My son and I were tossing discs on the course at Cottonwood Creek Park Tuesday evening and the sunset was way better than my score. Nate Dogg had his best round ever though! At least one of us knows what we’re doing out there. The sunset of course was extra good due to the wildfire smoke. The particulates give a little bit of extra scattering to the sunlight as it works through the atmosphere to our eyes and we really get the oranges and reds to come through.
We’ll keep some smoke around at the surface through the day like we have this morning…so as the low clouds give way to some sun, we should notice haze around again…but up above the cooler air at the surface we should clean things up a little bit compared to what we had on Tuesday.
As high pressure builds over the Great Basin the next few days we’re likely to get some continued rounds of haze/smoke from the fires in the west. The most significant fire activity is currently across Washington, and some of that air will track into Colorado.
