SEVERE STORMS FRIDAY

Severe thunderstorms over eastern Las Animas County, southern Bent and Prowers Counties, and Baca County are likely to develop today between 2:30-4pm, move east through the late afternoon and be in Kansas by 7:30 pm.
The biggest threat today is strong downdraft wind of 60-70mph…but ping pong ball hail and even an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out. The most likely area and timeframe of a tornado is between Kim and Pritchett between 4-5:30pm before the storms start to line out and be big straight-line wind makers.

Ping pong ball-sized hail is also possible with the storms as the move from eastern Las Animas County into Baca County in the late afternoon.
