Solid mid-week storm improves ski and boarding conditions

72 hour snow reports as of Thursday morning, February 26 for resorts/areas reporting the highest totals in Colorado.

Latest numbers from the slopes this morning match up well with what I showed before it started snowing late Tuesday. It’s a nice refill if you want to go grab some turns! I just talked to Shayna Silverman at Arapahoe Basin and she says, “We received 8″ so far with this storm and it’s still coming down. After a bit of product testing this morning, I can tell you firsthand it’s a proper powder day out there!”

She added, “This week, our team increased our footprint to 50% open terrain which can be found in Pallavicini, The Beavers, and the Front Side. We’re continuing to chip away at runs within these already open terrain pods including openings in West Woods, Dog Woods, Turbo, North Glade, and more. This storm is going to help us get even more open in the coming days – our team has been waiting for a storm like this to come and is poised to pop open whatever we can whenever we can.”

This is great news at Arapahoe Basin and the other ski areas in the central and northern part of the state. Here are a couple different ways I shared my forecast in advance of the storm coming in. This one worked out really well!

The central and northern ski areas and resorts will get the most with the incoming storm 2/24-2/26.
A refresher of snow on the way to Colorado’s high country in the middle of the week.
